Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 10 August 2026
These terms apply to any domestic appliance repair or servicing work carried out by Appliance Repairman Ltd ("we", "us"), trading as Appliance Repair Man, of 18 St Andrews Ave, Colchester, Essex, CO4 3AP. By booking a repair with us, whether by phone, our website's Quick Quote form, or in person, you agree to these terms.
1. Our services
We repair domestic electric appliances, including ovens, range cookers, hobs, washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, microwaves, coffee machines. We do not carry out gas or refrigeration work. If, during diagnosis, we find your appliance needs work outside what we cover, we'll tell you rather than carry it out.
2. Quotes and pricing
Our standard repair price is £79 plus parts, as set out on our pricing page. This covers the engineer visit, fault diagnosis and labour. If parts are needed, we'll tell you the cost before fitting them so there are no surprises. Optional upgrades such as VIP Priority + Protection are available at booking and are priced separately.
3. Payment
Payment is taken once the repair is complete. Card and bank transfer accepted.
4. Access and your responsibilities
Please give us safe, clear access to the appliance and as accurate a description of the fault, make and model as you can when booking. If we attend and cannot access or safely work on the appliance through no fault of our own, a call-out charge may still apply.
5. Cancellations
If you booked as a consumer and not in the course of a business, you normally have the right to cancel within 14 days of booking under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. If you ask us to carry out the repair sooner and we do so within that period, you may still be charged for the diagnosis and any work already completed. To cancel, just call us on 01206 432 436 as soon as possible.
6. Guarantee
Every standard repair includes a six-month guarantee. The VIP Priority + Protection upgrade extends this to 12 months. Both cover labour relating to the original repair; replacement parts and unrelated new faults are not included unless separately guaranteed.
7. Our liability
We carry out all work with reasonable care and skill, in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. We are not responsible for pre-existing faults unrelated to the repair, or for damage caused by a fault we were not asked to fix. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
8. Complaints
If something isn't right, please call us on 01206 432 436 or email repairs@appliancerepairman.uk and we'll do our best to put it right.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the version shown on this page at the time you book applies to your repair.
